Completed Service Projects 2007-2008
Grant Distribution Luncheon - Chaparral members hosted their annual luncheon to honor grant recipients for their dedication to the community and its citizens.
Cushing Center - Chaparral members hosted an evening of fun, refreshments and prizes for the residents of this retirement community in their own activity center.
Coats for Kids Coin Drive - Chaparral Members distributed coin jars to over 37 schools within the Round Rock and Hutto School Districts. Chaparral volunteers then collected jars and donated coins and delivered them to the First Texas State bank where the money was deposited for the Coats for Kids project.
Round Rock Serving Center Food Drive - In November, Chaparrals offered assistance to the Serving Center in the collection of food for our local food pantry. Volunteers for this project delivered food barrels and boxes to area schools for food collection. Chaparrals then coordinated efforts with schools to collect the food and barrels and deliver them to the Serving Center.
Coats for Kids Distribution Day - In November, Chaparrals assisted in the Coats for Kids Distribution Day sponsored by the Round Rock Volunteer Center. Chaparrals helped with set-up, distribution and clean up at this event.
Texas Baptist Children's Home Open House - On Thursday, September 28th, Chaparral Women's Club hosted a reception for the children at TBCH and their teachers. A lasagna and salad dinner was provided for all attendees by Chaparrals. Each year, this reception enables the teachers of Round Rock ISD to meet house parents and further their understanding of the work of the Texas Baptist Children's Home.
RRISD Partners in Education School Supply Distribution was very successful with school supplies distributed to over 4,200 Round Rock ISD students. Additional supplies were distributed to district campuses to provide supplies to the 9,000+ students who qualified for free supplies this year.

Coats for Kids Fun Run was a big success! Thanks to all who volunteered and participated!
Texas Baptist Children's Home - Chaparrals provided dinner and served teachers, students and staff of TBCH at their annual get together.
Coats for Kids Distribution Day - Chaparrals aided in the distribution of coats collected.
Coats for Kids Coin Drive - Chaparrals retrieved money collected in coin bottles left at RRISD schools and delivered them to the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.
The Round Rock Area Serving Center Food Drive was completed Nov. 11th. Food collection barrels were delivered to RRISD schools and then food and barrels were collected and delivered to the Serving Center.
Blue Santa - Chaparrals assisted with wrapping donations made to the Blue Santa toy drive on December 6.
Cushing Center Bingo - Chaparrals hosted a fabulous evening of food, bingo and fun prizes for the ladies of Cushing Center.
